Colorado Craft Beer Show Brewcast: Illegal Pete’s 270 S. Broadway 12-14-2013

We had the honor to broadcast at Illegal Pete’s at 270 S. Broadway and what a show this was! Illegal Pete’s Marketing Guru and All Around Good Guy Virgil Dickerson co hosted with Turk. We had many special guests. First up was Amanda Seastrom from Niman Ranch who supplies their pork and beef and they do it in a humanely and sustainable way! We then talked to Mike Nelson a little bit who basically announced he was running for city council.  Tebo was next up from Breckenridge Brewery to talk about several items. Still not too late to get their Christmas Ale but do it fast! Aaron Thomas Collins from the great local band A Tom Collins then joined us to talk about his band, touring and the new album Sticke and Poke. Next up were brewers Alex Violette and Sam Screwbie from Upslope Brewing Company. They talked about the collaboration beer they did with Illegal Pete’s, the Christmas Ale and the re release of Foreign Style Stout. Comedian Adam Cayton-Holland was next. He is part of the Grawlix which you can catch at Funny Or Die, he does a ton of stand up around town as well as other places nationwide. He has a hilarious podcast too called My Dining Room Table. Check out his website HERE.  Last up was a legend in the music biz! Patterson Hood from the Drive-By Truckers jumped on as did Bart Dahl from 7S Management. Can’t thank Bart enough for this interview as well as Virgil for bringing in such amazing guests! Colorado Craft Beer Show Brewcast 12-15-2012 Hops & Pie Littlest Big Christmas Beer Fest

We broadcasted from Hops & Pie for their Littlest Big Christmas Beer Fest! Some very fine beers, as always, on tap!

In Hour One we kicked things off with some Brew News You Can Use! We then talked to our man Todd Thibault from Breckenridge Brewery! We closed out the hour talking with Hops & Pie’s Drew Watson! We talked to Drew about their upcoming brewing plans and about the barrels he bought and dropped off at 5 different breweries.



In Hour Two we led off with Steve Hastings from Dry Dock Brewing Company and Gary Valliere from Prost Brewing. We talked about Dry Dock’s seasonals and their new production facility as well as about Prost’s very fine German brews. We then talked to Luke Franklin from Upslope Brewing and Derek Strubel from Odell Brewing. Both Upslope and Odell have expansion plans and discussed the new Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout from Odell. We closed out the show talking more with Drew Watson and Illegal Pete’s Virgil Dickerson.

We broadcasted live from our home-away-from-home Arvada Beer Company! Always a blast being in Olde Town Arvada!

In Hour One we talked to Cary and Kelly Floyd about the amazing new brews they put out including their Harvest Fest Pumpkin Ale and their Oktoberfest Marzen. They as always had some great homebrewing tips for Turk. Also joining us live this hour was Kevin Schmid from The Archive Room. They had a big event, plan to carry more CO craft beer and are raising funds for the Arvada Food Bank.  Todd Thibault from Breckenridge Brewery jumped on as well and talked about some GABF events they are involved in as well as GABF ticket giveaway they are running at Breckenridge Colorado Craft this Thursday at 22nd and Blake. A ton of brew news in here as well!



In Hour Two we were joined by Cary Floyd from Arvada Beer as well as Virgil Dickerson from Illegal Pete’s. They have 5 awesome locations in Denver and Boulder and are about to open a 6th on South Broadway. They specialize in great Mexican food, live music and Colorado Craft Beer. They also have a new record label we talked about. They have also been doing some things with Upslope, Great Divide and soon to be Oskar Blues. We also chatted with Rick Bobbitt form the Keg Run Out Club. They are a homebrew club from the Broomfield area and were on hand sampling 118 beers. We closed out the show with head brewer at Arvada Beer Dennis O’Harrow and Phil Smit from the local Rotary club who is putting on the 1st annual Arvada Oktoberfest on October 5th and 6th.
